SpaceX Agrees to Buy Cursor for $60 Billion in Stock

SpaceX announced on June 16 a formal agreement to buy AI coding startup Cursor, maker of the Cursor code editor, for $60 billion worth of stock, CNBC reported. SpaceX said it expected the transaction to close during the third quarter.

Cursor had been among the fastest-growing AI companies, with Bloomberg reporting it surpassed $2 billion in annualized revenue in early 2026. Its last independent round was $2.3 billion at a $29.3 billion post-money valuation in November 2025, so the deal roughly doubled that mark.
