Vantage Data Centers officially announced plans in August for its "Frontier" site in Texas, saying investment in the campus will total more than $25 billion, DatacenterDynamics reported. The campus is 1.4 gigawatts at full build-out and is being built for OpenAI.
The project is another example of the build-to-suit model: developers finance and construct campuses sized to a single AI tenant, shifting capital intensity from the lab to its infrastructure partners.
