Twenty AI and Chip Stocks Lose More Than $1 Trillion in a Week as Financing Fears Spread

Twenty of the most valuable global AI and semiconductor stocks shed more than $1 trillion in value in the week, CNBC reported, as interest rate hikes, AI financing and intensifying competition weighed on sentiment. Investors also worried higher borrowing costs could weigh on the capital spending required for AI infrastructure.

On October 14 Dell fell 11% after a Barclays downgrade and CoreWeave fell 15.5% as its bond yields neared 15%; on October 15 SK Hynix fell more than 10% and Samsung 8.7%. The Dow climbed 500 points on October 14, showing the stress was concentrated in AI-linked names.
