Target appointed its first chief artificial intelligence officer, naming Chandhu Nair to the role, CNBC reported on August 11. Nair joins from Lowe's, where he was senior vice president of stores, data, AI and innovation.
The title is a sign of how AI leadership is spreading beyond tech companies to retailers, banks and other large employers. Retention is a question, though: Bloomberg reported separately that Lululemon's first chief AI and technology officer, Ranju Das, was exiting after less than a year.
