The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report draws on survey responses from over 1,000 global employers representing more than 14 million workers, making it one of the broadest available datasets on how employers expect technology to reshape hiring. The 2025 edition projects that AI and related technologies will disrupt the equivalent of 22 percent of jobs by 2030 - with 170 million new roles created and 92 million displaced, a net gain of 78 million positions.
The report is notably not just a story about technology roles: while AI, data, and cybersecurity skills top the list of fastest-growing demand, employers also expect continued growth in roles like care work and skilled trades that are harder to automate, alongside a sharp rise in demand for human skills like creative thinking and adaptability.
