Deloitte's 17th annual Tech Trends report maps how organizations are moving from AI experimentation toward measurable impact. It finds only 11% of organizations have AI agents in production despite 38% piloting them, and cites Gartner's prediction that 40% of agentic AI projects will fail by 2027, not because the technology doesn't work, but because companies are automating broken processes rather than redesigning them.
The report frames AI as forcing a broader reorganization it calls “the great rebuild,” requiring companies to redesign operating models, talent strategy, and governance rather than simply layering AI onto existing structures. It also tracks AI's expansion into physical operations, including robot-fleet coordination improving warehouse travel efficiency by roughly 10%.
