Xiao Hong is founder and CEO of Butterfly Effect, the company behind the Manus AI agent. Before Manus he founded Nightingale Technology and then, in 2022, Butterfly Effect, where he created the browser extension Monica.
In May 2025 he and co-founders Ji Yichao and Zhang Tao relocated to Singapore, and the company's headquarters was moved there. He led Manus through the Meta acquisition announced in December 2025 and unwound in April 2026, and the company raised more than $500 million on October 8, 2026.
