Jensen Huang began a European tour in Paris, where he met President Emmanuel Macron and said Nvidia would announce another $2 billion in European AI deals within a week, Fortune reported. That is on top of roughly $8 billion the company says it has committed to Europe over the past year. He told a Paris audience that "Europe needs to get in the race."
In London, Nvidia announced minority stakes in five U.K. startups and a $250 million compute commitment to U.K. AI safety research. Huang promotes open-source models as Europe's route to catching up with the U.S., and Nvidia is a major backer of French open-weight developer Mistral.
