Germany's Neura Robotics raised a Series C of up to $1.4 billion, with Nvidia, Amazon, Qualcomm and Tether participating, CNBC reported on June 10. The company hit a valuation of around $7 billion according to a source familiar with the matter, and full funding is contingent on Neura hitting certain milestones.
Milestone-contingent financing is a way for investors to hedge execution risk in hardware businesses. It is also a sign that European robotics is attracting the same strategic investors as U.S. and Chinese rivals.
