Meta Signs Nuclear Deals With Three Companies for 6.6 Gigawatts by 2035

Meta signed deals with three nuclear companies, Vistra, Oklo and TerraPower, TechCrunch and CNBC reported on January 9. Meta will buy a total of 2.1 gigawatts from two existing plants, Perry and Davis-Besse in Ohio, and said the projects should add 6.6 gigawatts of power by 2035. The agreements are tied to its Prometheus AI supercluster.

Nuclear power has become a central procurement item for AI infrastructure because it offers firm, round-the-clock supply, but new reactors take years to build, so near-term capacity comes from existing plants.
