Hermes Agent is an open-source autonomous AI agent built by Nous Research and released in February 2026, MIT licensed, with documentation at hermes-agent.nousresearch.com. Nous estimates it has been cloned more than 24 million times and drives roughly 2.5% of global AI token usage; those are company estimates.
In October 2026 Nous launched Hermes for Businesses, which lets companies deploy customized agents for multi-step workflows while keeping data private. Pricing for that product was not disclosed.
