Josh Payne is founder and CEO of Nscale, the London-based AI infrastructure company founded in 2024 as a spinoff of the crypto miner Arkon Energy. His company pursues vertically integrated AI infrastructure, controlling data center construction, GPU deployment and cloud services.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told Fortune that Nscale was a "zero" before Nvidia invested and helped it recruit its board. Payne said in October 2025 that he expected to go public around the end of 2026, and Nscale filed for a U.S. IPO on September 18, 2026.
