Kroger CEO Greg Foran wrote in a memo to staff that "Technology is reshaping what's possible" and that "the way work gets done is changing across every industry; we must adapt and take advantage of technology," Fortune reported. He said the restructuring would help fund lower prices and frontline investment.
The memo does not say how many roles AI will replace. It sits alongside a program to give AI training and tools to more than 400,000 employees.
