Salience Labs Shows a 64-Port All-Optical Switch and Claims Sub-10-Nanosecond Latency

Salience Labs demonstrated what it calls the world's first 64-port all-optical photonic switch at ECOC 2026 in Malaga, with 128-port and 256-port versions in development, SiliconANGLE reported on October 14. The company's pitch is that electrical switching in AI clusters adds latency and power draw, so data should travel over optical connections.

A post attributed to CEO Vaysh Kewada cites company figures of under 10 nanoseconds of latency and testing at 200G per lane; she noted these are company numbers, not independent data. We could not confirm the details from ECOC or a company release.
