White House Hosted AI Companies to Review a Voluntary Model-Testing Framework

The White House planned to host AI companies on a Tuesday in early August to review a new model-testing framework, CNBC reported on August 3. A Trump executive order from June created a voluntary system giving the government up to 30 days of early access to the most powerful models.

The approach asks companies to submit models for evaluation voluntarily rather than requiring pre-release approval. Google said Gemini 4 Argon went first to cyber defenders while it participates in the voluntary pre-release process.
