CoreWeave is a specialized cloud infrastructure provider renting out GPU compute at scale for AI training and inference workloads. Founded in September 2017 by Michael Intrator, Brian Venturo, and Brannin McBee, the company began as a cryptocurrency-mining operation before pivoting toward GPU cloud infrastructure as AI training demand accelerated.

CoreWeave went public via IPO in March 2025 and by September 2026 traded with a market capitalization of roughly $49 billion, following a pre-IPO run that included $7.65 billion in private funding and a $23 billion valuation in a 2024 secondary sale. The company's cloud infrastructure now powers workloads for nine of the ten leading foundation model providers.
